Set in a characterful old farmhouse in the countryside, this Exeter Kitchen Store kitchen was designed to feel bright, practical, and welcoming while respecting the building’s charm. With uneven cob walls and a busy family routine, the brief was clear: create a hardworking, light-filled space that becomes the true heart of the home.
TIMELESS FARMHOUSE TRANSFORMATION
This farmhouse kitchen already had plenty of character, but the cob walls meant nothing was quite straight, and the room felt darker and smaller than it truly needed to. Our goal was to embrace these quirks rather than fight them, designing a layout that honored the age of the building while making the space feel brighter, more open, and genuinely practical for everyday family life.
The Mornington door, with its timeless shaker style, felt perfectly at home in the countryside setting. Stone and Regiment Green tones add warmth and depth, while the Ammonite Glacier White Quartz worktops reflect natural light beautifully, especially by the sink. At the heart of the kitchen, the island acts as a true family hub for baking, breakfasts, and homework.

This kitchen has been carefully designed to complement an old farmhouse. Cob walls are rarely straight, but thanks to precise scribing by our fitter, the kitchen sits neatly against them while preserving their original character. Timeless Mornington shaker doors bring enduring countryside charm, while a two-tone scheme balances light and depth.
Soft Stone keeps the space bright and airy, while Regiment Green adds warmth and grounding. Ammonite Glacier White Quartz worktops are practical and reflective, extending to the window to make the room feel open and inviting. A central island suits everyday life, from baking to homework. The walk-in larder, curved corner cabinets, and integrated fridge and freezer keep storage streamlined, accessible, and beautifully organised.
