THE PROCESS

John and Jo were ready to give their kitchen a refresh. After exploring a handful of other kitchen brands (and not quite finding the one), a glowing recommendation from their neighbours brought them to Exeter Kitchen Store. A visit to the showroom - and a chat with our team - was all it took. They were impressed by our personal approach and in-depth knowledge.

Working with Dom, they began their kitchen journey. John and Jo chose our Impressions door in Sand Beige - a timeless and calming alternative to the cooler tones they’d grown tired of. Paired with a 30mm Ammonite Carrara Extra worktop, the space now feels light, welcoming and well-balanced.

One major goal? Get a freezer in the kitchen. Until now, any cooking meant a chilly trip out to the garage. Dom redesigned the layout to include a new fridge freezer and coordinated with installers and gas engineers to relocate the boiler to a more discreet (and less in-the-way) spot.

Another key feature? The original hatch door. A quirky, practical classic - John and Jo were keen to keep it. Rather than seeing it as an obstacle, Dom designed the kitchen to flow around it seamlessly. It’s now a standout feature in a sleek, modern space.

Functionality was just as important as style. The kitchen now includes clever storage solutions like a magic corner and pull-out larder unit, making the most of every inch. And with state-of-the-art appliances - like the NEFF Slide & Hide oven and a Quooker tap for boiling water on demand - the kitchen is as practical as it is beautiful.

The end result? A warm, functional and future-proof kitchen that ticks every box - and keeps the ice cream close at hand.
