FROM DARK TO DELIGHT
Matt’s kitchen was small, dark, and offered little room for socialising. To create a brighter, more welcoming space, he extended the back of their home, opening up the area into a spacious, open-plan kitchen complete with a skylight.
To add a modern touch to their traditional townhouse, Matt collaborated with Exeter Kitchen Store. Jay worked closely with him, designing a family-focused layout featuring a standout kitchen island. The sleek, handleless Impressions Linium door proved perfect for busy family life.
After debating Sand Beige and Atlantic, they chose Atlantic for a bold pop of colour, paired with striking black rails. Features include a CDA wine cooler, ELICA gas hob with extraction, and a 30mm Ammonite Glacier White worktop.
KITCHEN ISLAND OF DREAMS
Matt’s absolute favourite part of the kitchen is undoubtedly the generous workspace, which owes its charm and practicality to the large, spacious kitchen island at the heart of the room. This island isn’t just a piece of furniture; it’s the centre of the kitchen, offering ample surface area that makes every cooking task feel effortless.
Whether Matt is preparing a complex meal, chopping vegetables, kneading dough, or assembling ingredients, the island provides more than enough room to spread out and stay organised. Beyond its practical uses, it also serves as the perfect gathering spot for friends and family, making entertaining simple and enjoyable. Hosting dinner parties or casual get-togethers becomes a pleasure, as everyone can mingle comfortably while Matt cooks up a storm.
